Green Wave Defeat Rocky River at Home

The Holy Name Green Wave volleyball team started strong in their quad on October 5, 2013, defeating the Pirates of Rocky River in quick fashion. Senior Captain Emily Lachowski lead the team in kills while Senior Katie Dosen lead the team in digs. Fifth-year head coach Jenny Phillips said, "I've been impressing upon the girls that this year is their year to play like champions... No moral victories."

The Green Wave played very strong in the quad against Division I Strongsville and Division II State Champion Beaumont despite losing to both teams in games 2 and 3. The Green Wave had the lead in every game and competed very well despite falling in subsequent games.

Holy Name, currently undefeated in the NCL White Division, plays their final division game on Tuesday, October 8th, against Trinity High School. Their final regular season home game is Thursday, October 10th, against Padua, presently ranked #1 in the state and coming off their first loss of the season to Lake Catholic.
